Introduction to Flower & Garden Photography

garden photography workshop preston

This brand new workshop is a mixture of instruction and shooting and is ideal for beginners and anyone wanting to improve their flower and garden photography skills. It’s a relaxed and friendly small group workshop, with plenty opportunity for shooting.

The day will start by looking at general camera skills, settings and equipment in a jargon free and easy to understand manner. We will then move on to discussing composition and light with lots of images on show to demonstrate the concepts and inspire your own photography.

After lunch we will move into the garden and put the morning’s learning into practice, I’ll be on hand to answer your questions and offer guidance. The day will end with a general discussion and an opportunity to ask any questions.

Who is the workshop for? Anyone from photography beginners to those that have started to understand the basics and want to expand their knowledge into flower and garden photography.

What equipment is needed? Ideally you will have a camera that has interchangeable lenses and can shoot in different modes such as Aperture and Manual. The workshop aims to help you get the most from whatever camera and lenses you have. You may also wish to bring a tripod and a reflector but these are not at all essential.

What if it rains? We are fortunate to have to option of shooting in a wonderful orangery if it happens to rain. With lots of succulents and other plants we will still be able to put the morning’s learning into practice.
