The Essence of a Forest – Serenity Project December

December has passed in it’s usual blur with little time made for photography. We always take some time away from home in December which means that Christmas preparations are rushed and the month seems swing backwards and forwards between being busy and being totally relaxed!

For this month’s Serenity Project I decided to use my phone to try to capture the essence of a Scottish pine forest where I often walk. I love the birch trees with their silvery trunks that nestle among the pines, I love the fact that at times the forest is so dense that it’s pitch black just a few feet off the path but at other points the sun shines through the trees and looks quite magical. I love that it’s always so peaceful with only the sounds of birds to be heard….

Oh wow Janet! These images are stunning… and the rich colours and deep tones are beautiful.

You have definitely got a knack with your phone for producing fine art. This would make a fine workshop subject.

      Thanks so much Wendy!

  • Amy

These are gorgeous! Your talent and ability to make fine art with your phone is truly amazing!

Janet, these images just go to prove that if you have a vision you can make art no matter what lens you are using. The colors are so rich and intense that they make we want to dive into the forest. I think you should have a workshop for us ladies even if it means for most of us flying across the pond.

Thank you Joan, I’m so pleased the images make you want to dive into the forest, I love this forest but I don’t find wooded areas the easiest to photograph!

If any of you ladies ever wanted to come over I would be more than happy to run a workshop!!

      Thanks so much Jessica!
