I’m just back home after spending a gloriously sunny weekend in Scotland – while we were there we spent a lovely relaxing afternoon at a Tibetan Buddhist centre in Eskdalemuir a lovely place to spend a calming hour or two. Of course I took the camera but I always find myself drawn to the small details even though the whole is visually beautiful.
I felt quite privilaged to be allowed to help with the lighting of these candles as part of the Light Offering – 108 of them are lit each day as an offering for world peace and harmony. On certain occasions all of them, over 1000, are lit. It took a while for three people to light 108 since the incense tapers keep going out so I can’t imagine how long it would take to light them all !!
