Its Definitely Spring When…..

There are three things that happen in my garden each yet that let me know spring has well and truly landed.

The pieris shrub sprouts beautiful red leaves alongside tiny white flowers, it looks really spectacular at the moment.

The bleeding heart plant that was just the tiniest shoot is suddenly two foot tall and full of flowers, its almost as if it grows overnight. Every spring it takes me by surprise.

The weeds. They appear just as suddenly as the the bleeding hearts, one day the garden looks acceptable, the next it’s an embarrassing mess of weeds.

The arrival of spring coincided with the arrival of a set of macro filters for my Lensbaby and since one of my aims for this year is to do a lot more garden and flower photography so I decided to start at home. Unfortunately everything that’s looking good in my garden can be captured in just two photographs!

I decided not to include the weeds!

Both taken with Lensbaby Sweet 50 and 16mm macro converter as part of my Year With Unconventional Lenses.

I also have the Sweet 50 and macro converters and must follow your lead and use them more. I love the vibrancy of the colours nestled into the soft blur.

      Thank you!
It’s easy to fall into the habit of not using them isn’t it, I’ve been wanting the converters for a while now so am determined to make the most of them this summer!
